David S. Krantz, Ph.D. is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology at the USU. He received his B.S. from the City College of New York and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Krantz has authored over 170 scientific and professional publications, with a focus on stress and behavioral triggers of acute cardiovascular events such as myocardial ischemia and malignant arrhythmias. Dr. Krantz was the recipient of the American Psychological Association's (APA) Early Career Scientific Award in 1982, and Annual Awards from the APA Division of Health Psychology in 1981 and 2000. He is a former Editor-in-Chief of the journal Health Psychology, is President-Elect of the APA Division of Health Psychology and a Past President of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research.
